John C. Derrick to be Ordained

By the grace of Almighty God, your prayers and presence are requested at a celebration of Holy Communion with the Rite of Ordination for John C. Derrick into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament.

The ordination will take place on Sunday, the fourteenth of October at four o’clock in the afternoon, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church located at 1273 Calks Ferry Rd in Lexington. Rev. Art Hallman will preach. and The Rev. Herman R. Yoos, III, Bishop of the South Carolina Synod, will preside.

John will be serving as Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Irmo.

Following the service a reception will be held at St. Matthew’s.

All rostered ministers are invited to process. Red is the color of the day.

Prayer

Almighty and merciful God, you built your Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and you instituted the office of the holy ministry so that apostolic and prophetic Word might be heard throughout the ages. Grant that this new pastor may minister faithfully in the power of your Spirit; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
