Jerry Dean Jennings, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and military veteran, passed away on February 10, 2024. Born in 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.
Jerry is survived by his beloved spouse, Angela Jennings, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He was a proud father to his son, Wesley Jennings (Aneesha Jennings), and daughter, Adrienne Jennings. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his granddaughter, Makayla Jennings, who brought immense happiness into his life.
A veteran of the military, Jerry served his country with honor and pride. His commitment to service was a testament to his strength and character, leaving a legacy of courage and dedication that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Jerry’s love for his German Shepherds, Gunnar Wolf and Schatzi, was well known among his friends and family. These faithful companions were not just pets but part of his family, providing companionship and joy throughout his life.
Jerry’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the memories shared by his loved ones. As we say goodbye, we also celebrate the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed profoundly.
In keeping with Jerry’s wishes and to honor his memory, the family held a private gathering and has decided not to hold a public funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity dedicated to supporting veterans and service members. Additionally, considering Jerry’s love for his German Shepherds, donations to German Shepherd Rescue and Adoptions would also honor his memory, supporting the rescue and adoption of German Shepherds in need.
Jerry’s legacy of love, service, and strength will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. And, he would appreciate sending everyone a reminder to take out the trash, eat your veggies, brush your teeth, always wear something black, file your taxes on time, and if you find something you like buy 5 of them!
