By the grace of God and the movement of the Holy Spirit, your prayers and presence – either virtual or in-person – are requested at a celebration of Holy Communion with the Rite of Ordination for Patrick Dale Preacher into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament.
The ordination will occur on Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The worship service will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 North Main Street, Greenville, South Carolina.
The Rev. Ginny Aebischer, Bishop of the South Carolina Synod, will preside at the ordination, and the Rev. Susan Crowell will preach.
Patrick has accepted a call to serve as Pastor of Queer Ministry and Belonging at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Clergy from all traditions are invited to vest and/or wear a stole. The color of the day is red. Attendees are welcome to wear red or rainbow.
The service will be livestreamed on trinitylutheran.ws and on Trinity’s Facebook and YouTube pages for those unable to attend in person.
A reception will follow the service.
Prayer
Almighty and merciful God, you built your Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and you instituted the office of the holy ministry so that apostolic and prophetic Word might be heard throughout the ages. Grant that this new deacon may minister faithfully in the power of your Spirit; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
