A Health Update from Bishop Aebischer

Dear Friends,

I want to give you a health update and express my appreciation for your prayers, cards and various expressions of well-wishes during my surgery and recovery from hip replacement. I am happy to tell you that my hip recovery has gone very well. The prayers of sisters and brothers in the faith community have carried me through this recovery. I am incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement from our faithful and amazing Staff.

I am asking for you to continue holding me in prayer. On September 2nd, the first day I returned to the office, the doctors found a malignancy in my throat. It was difficult news to receive, as you might imagine, and over the last month there have been many unknowns that made the path for treatment hard to predict. We have been in regular communication with the doctors and I have had tests run to help the medical team understand more precisely what is going on. I expect that treatment will start soon and later this fall, surgery will be scheduled to remove it. I am grateful for medical science and people in medical professions who can offer these treatments and care. I am grateful for the support of medical insurance that make care more affordable.

I am blessed by a loving husband and family and Synod staff who have walked with me through the ups and downs of these past few weeks. I am grateful for all of you who believe with me in Jesus and the power of prayer. While this has been a difficult diagnosis to receive, I would like you to know that we remain very hopeful. I am working a full schedule, but also making sure to leave room for needed treatments and medical attention. I appreciate your understanding and I sincerely thank you for your prayers for me and for our family.

In Christ,
+Bishop Ginny
