Greetings to you sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I am blessed each day as I rise and learn of the many ways that you are enriching the lives of so many people with the Good News of Christ. You have become innovators and leaders in the midst of a crisis that the majority of us have never seen. Though the COVID-19 virus has suspended our in-person worship, you and your congregations have moved with urgency to make certain that pastoral care is possible from drive-in worship to weekly online worship and your continued generosity to keep ministry flowing. How grateful I am for your boldness and confidence in our Lord.
In this season of uncertainty and challenges, your synod staff continues to hold you in prayer and, like all of you, we are working to be innovative in providing resources to you and your congregations to respond to the challenges. We have given particular attention to the financial resources available for you to access.
- SBA’s Payroll Protection Program (CARES Act)
- Mission Investment Fund – Deferred loan payments or interest only
- Reducing Mission Support
- South Carolina Lutheran Synod COVID-19 Crisis Grant
- Stewardship Resource “Begin Cultivating Generosity”
Included with this letter is a packet that provides needed information for each of the above resources and the application for a Synod Grant. Please review the information and we recommend that you act quickly in applying for the SBA Payroll Protection Program. If you have questions, please contact me, Pastor Ginny or Pastor Rick.
May God bless you and your ministry with the richness that comes through God’s generous act in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Peace,
Bishop Herman Yoos
