Synod Mission Videos

I Love to Tell the Story

I Love to Tell the Story

“Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. “  Joel 1:3 (New Revised Standard Version)

Tell the story of Jesus and his love! I heard a person make this comment, “I want to know that I am connected and part of something bigger than myself; something that goes beyond my inner circle of family and friend”. As a Christian, as congregation and as synod, Jesus calls us into a ministry partnership to spread his word and his love throughout the world. Whenever we work together to do this, we make a tremendous difference in this world and in the lives of God’s beloved children. This is one of the truly wonderful things about being South Carolina Synod – we walk together in ministry. We can do more together to make a difference in the world sharing the love of Jesus than we ever imagined possible.

This mission focused video will present stories of ministries of our congregations, the synod, rostered ministers and the churchwide organization that are made possible because of our partnerships across the church.

Thank you for your partnership in God’s mission and for all the other stories you are telling and living through your local congregation. We are so thankful for you, and we are blessed to walk together in this ministry, as we tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.

“Thank you for the incredible support you give to make possible the ministries and stories we’ve told. Thanks be to God!” Bishop Virginia S. Aebischer

To Boldly Go… To Proclaim

A version of this video with subtitles in Spanish is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnsAHib7ZVU

This video has a companion devotional available here: https://scsynod.com/wp-content/uploads/documents/stewardship/2021-mission-moment-congregation-council-devotions.pdf

To boldly go…to proclaim!

“Lord… grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29 (New Revised Standard Version)

In this part of Acts we find the arrest of Peter and John for proclaiming that in Jesus there is the resurrection of the dead, and by the power of the Holy Spirit Peter’s bold proclamation of faith in Jesus and the healing that people have experienced in Christ is shared in front of all the rulers and the people gathered. The leaders become more angry by this bold proclamation. The people turn to prayer and ask for even more boldness in their own proclamation. And they are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Boldness lived out each day comes through faith in Christ Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit with us. It takes trust to step out in boldness with one another to speak the truth of the gospel; to make the time to continue our explorations together of the scriptures and not only rely on what we learned in the past. The Word remains steadfast, but the proclamation of the God’s Living Word is always calling on us to consider applications for our new time. This Mission video will present stories of bold ministry of our congregations, the synod, rostered ministers and the churchwide organization that are made possible because of our partnerships across the church. We are able to do bold ministry because we partner together.
