TOGETHER WE CELEBRATE THE ORDINATION OF CHRISTOPHER GIRARDEAU

By the grace of God and the movement of the Spirit, your prayers and presence—either virtual or in-person—are requested at a celebration of Holy Communion with the Rite of Ordination for Christopher Daniel Girardeau into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament.

The ordination will take place on Saturday, the thirteenth of November, two thousand and twenty-one at four-thirty in the afternoon.  The worship service will be in Christ Chapel on the campus of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, located at 4201 North Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina. The Reverend Virginia Aebischer, Bishop of the South Carolina Synod, will be presiding at this ordination and the Reverend Doctor Philip Bouknight, Pastor at Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Moneta, Virginia, will preach.

Christopher has been called by Reformation Lutheran Church of Lancaster, South Carolina to be their pastor.

All ordained, consecrated, and commissioned ministers are invited to robe and participate. Red is the color of the day.

For the health and safety of all, masks are required to attend this service.

Because of COVID-19 and the desire to maintain appropriate safety precautions, physical attendance will be limited. The service will be live-streamed on Christ Chapel’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TeachFormNurture/ for those who are not able to be physically present.

prayer

Gracious and loving God, you built your Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, and you instituted the office of the holy ministry so that apostolic and prophetic Word might be heard throughout the ages. Grant that this new pastor may minister faithfully in the power of your Spirit; through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Good Shepherd. Amen.
