A request from Bishop Yoos regarding the Abunduncia Appeal

A number of congregations are participating in a July emphasis for helping to build our first Latino Sanctuary for Cristo Rey in West Columbia.  Through your generous gifts of love to the Abunduncia Appeal we also hope to provide new resources to expand Latino Ministry to this synod and to establish an endowment for future maintenance of the Cristo Rey Sanctuary.

If your congregation has supported a special emphasis this summer would you please have your Pastor or Treasurer contact me no later than Wednesday, July 22nd by email (herman@scsynod.com) or text (803-397-2491) and let me know the name of your congregation and the amount raised? I hope to be able to announce these totals after my bishop’s report on Saturday, July 25th.

I am deeply thankful for the generosity of so many helping to build this new sanctuary for our fastest growing mission congregation in spite of this pandemic.  May we continue to find new ways to share the gift of Christ’s abundant life with our hurting world.

In Christ,

Herman R. Yoos
