Inquirer’s Day of Reflection

2024 Inquirer’s day of reflection

Sunday, December 15, 2022
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
via Zoom

By Pastor Rick Carter, Assistant to the Bishop

Our journey through life and faith takes many turns as we grow in service to our Lord.

I want to extend a personal invitation to you – an invitation to discern a Call to Ordained Ministry.

I love when the apostle Paul writes, “But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news’”

Ordained Ministry as a Deacon or Pastor, is a sacred vocation. One that invites individuals to serve, guide, and walk alongside others in their spiritual journeys. It is a life of profound purpose, where one can be the hands, feet and voice of God’s grace and love in the world.

As you ponder this invitation, know that ministry is not about perfection, but about willingness: a willingness to listen, to serve, and to trust in God’s call, even when the path is not always clear. It is a call to lead with humility, to be a voice for the voiceless, and to embody God’s love in all aspects of life.

If this resonates with you, I encourage you to join us on Zoom by registering at the link below.

If you are unable to attend, please contact Pastor Rick Carter, Assistant to the Bishop, to schedule a time to learn more.

May God’s peace be with you as you listen and respond to the stirrings of the Holy Spirit in your heart.
