God calls people of faith every day to step up to the challenge, expand horizons, and bring change to the world through the power of the Gospel. Since 1830, LTSS has been charged with serving Region 9 of the ELCA in its mission to teach, form, and nurture men and women for public ministry in Christ’s Church. Responding to God’s call and led by the Spirit, Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary continues to prepare leaders with the vision and vitality to bring the scriptures to life in the 21st century.

On the beautiful and historic fifteen acre campus in Columbia, South Carolina, seminarians bring unique perspectives to the table for faithful dialogue and study led by engaged and dynamic professors committed to preparing each student for meaningful ministry and leadership.

LTSS offers four degrees of study: Master of Divinity, (MDiv), Master of Arts Christian Ministry, (MACM), Master of Sacred Theology (STM), and Master of Arts Religion, (MAR). Two degrees are also offered through the Lenoir-Rhyne University Center for Graduate Studies: Master of Arts Counseling and Master of Arts Human Services.

Through the faithful support of congregations and individuals in the South Carolina Synod, the seminary is empowering men and women to bring new life to Christ’s Church in South Carolina and beyond. Southern Seminary has become a leader in theological education across the nation. Please continue your partnership with your seminary during Seminary Emphasis Month.
