Would you like to get a glimpse of what stewardship would look like in your congregation if each member gave from what they have?

Would you like to open up conversation on the concept of proportionate giving?

If your answer is “yes” to one or both of the above questions, then it’s time to try-a-tithe Sunday. What is ‘Try-A-Tithe Sunday?’ In 2 Corinthians 8: 2-3, Paul says directly “for during a severe ordeal of affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means, and even beyond their means.”

Paul’s observation is an educational opportunity for congregations today. What would stewardship in your congregation look like if each member honestly gave from what we have? One way to get a glimpse of this possibility is to put a ‘Try-A-Tithe Sunday’ on your calendar. Visit http://scsynod.us/tryatithe or go to elca.org/stewardshipresources to read about how to conduct a “Try-A-Tithe Sunday’ in your congregation. For assistance call Rev.
