Bethsaida was my favorite place on our trip to the Holy Lands. The morning was damp and we hiked the road that the disciples would have hiked. We sat in a place where it is believed that Jesus said to those fishermen, “Come and follow.” That was one of the moments during the trip where my emotions were the highest. I could image Jesus saying to us as we sat there, “Come and follow.” That is the message that I have brought back to the congregation where I serve, “Come and follow… even when you are just really busy, even when there are other things that compete for your time, even when you think you are just a fisherman in this really big sea… Come and follow.”
