In the mountains of North Carolina God has given all of us this amazing gift called Camp Lutherock. Camp Lutherock is celebrating its 60th birthday this year on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Pastor Frank Wagner from Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Juno Beach Florida thought it would be really cool if we could give Camp Lutherock a birthday gift. The gift would be a zip line that would run from the Saddle all the way to the area where the Alpine Tower is. Of course a gift for Camp Lutherock becomes a gift for all of us.

Pastor Frank Wagner is also turning 60 years old this year and thought his best way to support the campaign would be to help get the message out so he decided to ride his bicycle from Juno Beach, Florida where he lives to Camp Lutherock, about 900 miles. It’s going to take him 13 days, August 7-19. Every night he will stop at a church and spend the night and ask that congregation if they will also give to Ziptherock. Every day he will be posting pictures and videos of his journey on the Ziptherock website.

Raising the money for the zip line won’t be difficult if everyone of us helps out. Here is how we can do this:

Step 1: Go to the website ( that was made just for this campaign to raise the $60,000. The campaign is called “Ziptherock”.

Step 2: “Go to the website and make a contribution yourself. A one-time gift of $10, or $15, or $20. Bigger gifts are great too, but I don’t want anyone to be scared away by thinking they have to make a big gift. If 6000 people give $10, we’re there!!! Tell your parents that these gifts are tax deductible because all the gifts are going to NovusWay, which includes Camp Lutherock.

Step 3: This is the most important step of all. Please, please, please tell your friends, your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, pastor, youth leader, your whole church, neighbors, friends and even your enemies. Use texting, emailing, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, or any other social media tools you use to get the word out.
