By Ashley Lucas, Fitness and Wellness Supervisor, The Heritage at Lowman
Join us Tuesday, April 12, for a new educational series at the Heritage at Lowman.
This series will focus on the theme of grief. Grief is a natural and normal part of living and loving. Like going to the dentist or taking our car to the shop, it is unavoidable and something we have to deal with. This series will cover various aspects of grief to help us better care for ourselves and the ones we love when grief hits. In easy to swallow doses our grief experts will share some of their favorite tips for coping with the pain of grief.
The April 12th session will focus on the major troubling components of grief and ways of confronting them. Among the challenges are guilt, anger, ambivalence, depression, and “getting stuck”. The session will discuss the roles of rituals, support activities, and community as means of moving through the grieving process.
The following are the dates for the remaining “Walking with Grief” educational series:
May 10, 2016: Dementia and Grief
June 14, 2016: Ongoing Grief and Triggers
