By Rev. Nathan Rice, Community Outreach Network Convener

SCSynod-4Color-NoTagThe Community Outreach Network’s task forces have been hard at work since the synod assembly working to help the congregations of our synod connect with folks in our communities. The public education task force would like to thank all the congregations who responded to our synod wide survey. This survey was designed to help the task force and the synod see how we are partnering with public schools in our various communities. It has been amazing to see all the different wonderful ministries that the congregations of the SC synod are making happen each and every week. We have had an excellent response so far with over 50% of our synod’s congregations filling out the survey. If your congregation has not responded to the survey we are giving you one more chance to share how God is at work in your congregation. Follow this link and fill out the survey:

The Community Outreach Network also has a great opportunity for folks who have a passion for feeding hungry people in their communities and abroad. We are looking for folks to serve on the Domestic and World Hunger Task Force. We need both lay and clergy who are passionate about helping our synod make systemic changes in this area. If you are interested in serving on this task force, or would like more information please contact Rev. Nathan Rice by email:

Thank you for all you do to make Christ known to others in your communities. Please consider these additional opportunities to make a vital impact in our world.
