South Carolina Synod Civil Rights Pilgrimage
You’re invited to the first Civil Rights Pilgrimage of the South Carolina Synod to Selma and Montgomery, Alabama on September 12-13, 2019.
The bus will leave at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12 and return on the next day at 7:00 p.m.
- Spending time at the National Memorial and Museum for Peace and Justice (The Lynching Museum.)
- Visiting the Civil Rights Museum in Montgomery.
- Civil Rights walking tour including Brown Chapel A.M.E.
- Walking and praying Together the Pettus Bridge.
- Lowndes Interpretive Center
We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Selma near the Pettus Bridge. The cost of the bus trip, hotel accommodations, and museums will be $220. If you would like to arrange staying with a roommate, you are responsible for doing so. There is a $60 discount per person if you are rooming with someone at the hotel. Then you total cost for the trip would be $160.
