For many years, the spouses of our SC Synod rostered leaders have met in February for a fun-filled annual retreat to re-unite with friends and meet new ones. Here we have lots of fun, fellowship, and conversations, as well as a program on Saturday that is designed to be meaningful to you as spouse of a rostered leader.
At last year’s Spouse Retreat, the participants decided to make two changes for this year’s retreat:
- Change the location from Camp Kinard to our synod’s alternate retreat site, the SC Coastal Retreat Center at the Isle of Palms near Charleston
- Have a true retreat experience and meet Friday through Sunday (instead of Fri-Sat)
This year the dates for our retreat are March 11-13 (in hopes of better ‘beach weather’). Pastor Paul Aebischer, South Carolina Portico Regional Representative, will be our program presenter on Saturday morning and will discuss healthy lifestyles for us, our spouses, and families.
Please fill out the registration form below and note the deadline February 26. Everyone is encouraged to attend Friday through Sunday. If you prefer a double room and roommate, please list the roommate’s name (after making sure that person plans to attend). Overnight cost includes the two nights of lodging only. Those who may choose to commute will only be responsible for meals they eat with the group.
In case you have never visited our Coastal Retreat Center (or haven’t been in a few years), there is a large and fully equipped kitchen for guests to use (and clean) as needed. In order to keep initial costs down, we plan to use the kitchen ourselves for Friday night and for breakfasts, and go ‘dutch treat’ to local eateries for lunch and dinner meals.
For those of you who have never attended this annual retreat, I give you a personal invitation to join us in March and experience for yourself wonderful friendships and support from this group. If you have attended before, we look forward to seeing you again!
