Reading Matters Because our Children Matter
Faith leaders and congregations who have partnered with Richland School District One are taking steps to address the critical issue of literacy as a foundation of a strong education. Building on a multi-denominational program begun in January of 2015, we will continue to pair reading tutors with children in first and second grades. The children will be identified by their teachers as students whose reading will benefit from the extra attention given by tutors.
Tutoring will improve the children’s ability to read. We believe this will cultivate in them a life long love of reading. Join us. Download the brochure to sign up and get trained. Tutoring will begin the week of September 17, 2018.
