Were you affected by last year’s flooding caused by Hurricane Joaquin? Do you still have unmet needs or questions about how to get assistance?
Lutheran Services Carolinas is holding a community forum at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 for those in the Columbia area who are still struggling because of issues related to the flood.
The forum will offer information on eligibility for assistance with securing housing, benefits, or home repairs. Those attending will have the opportunity to complete an anonymous needs assessment survey and participate in a focus group. The information gathered will be used to design a preparedness plan for the community and to develop programs and tools to address the major needs that emerge from the assessment.
Speakers from St. Bernard’s Project, Columbia Resilience, and Lutheran Services Carolinas will provide information about their programs.
