By Rev. Eric Wolf, Assistant to the Bishop

Shift Book CoversThe South Carolina Synod’s 2016 Leadership days are about to get underway!

During these events, Bishop Yoos and Assistants to the Bishop Ginny Aebischer and Eric Wolf are looking forward to spending time with our rostered leaders during morning and afternoon times, and congregations are encouraged to send their Church Council and interested members of their congregation for an evening session.

We’ll talk about Shift by Mark Tidsworth, and each rostered leader who attends will get a complementary copy to use to facilitate discussions with their congregations. These discussions will cover important cultural changes that all congregations are now learning to deal with, and help us to focus on three core tasks: shifting from membership to discipleship models of being the Church; shifting from attraction to mission in our core ways of acting like the Church; and shifting from our disciples being seen as consumers of the church product, and instead becoming Sacred Partners in the mission, vision, and values of our faith lived out together.

Please follow (and share) this link to register for this event: http://tinyurl.com/SynodLeadershipDays.

ROSTERED LEADERS: Please fill out ONE REGISTRATION PER ROSTERED LEADER, and be sure to choose your time and location for your Leadership Day. Also, please give an indication of how many leaders from your congregation will be able to attend, if possible. If you have to come back and indicate this, just fill out a new registration — it will take less than five minutes!

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Rev. Eric Wolf at eric@scsynod.com.

May the Lord bless and keep you during these holy days.
