At our church, Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lexington, we sometimes “play” a game we like to call, “Did Ja Know?” It’s fun to see who knows trivia about Pilgrim’s history.

So, here goes……. “Did Ja Know” that the ELCA SC Synod has three Companion Synods that we are in relationship with? “Did Ja Know” the countries/ Synods that we are in relationship with? They are Japan Evangelical Lutheran Church (Japan), South Western Diocese (Tanzania), and Iglesia Evangelica Luterana de Colombia (Colombia).

Mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ

As a lighthouse shines in the darkness to guide ship captains away from dangers and toward safety, this year SC WELCA will respond to Jesus’ calling to reflect his light through local and global projects. Our theme and hymn (#715 ELW) is “Christ, Be Our Light.” We are called to be God’s living voice for those seeking basic needs such as shelter, food, clean water, and safety. We ask God to shine through the darkness and in our hearts so we may be instruments of his mercy.

2017 Tanzania Mission Team Update

The Tanzania Mission Team, led by Bishop Herman Yoos, was a spiritual event for all. The team included: Pastor Ginny Aebischer; assistant to the Bishop; Pastor James Lawrence; Pastor John Trump; Joe Fulmer, rep-resenting LLM; and Dr. Cathy Milejczak, Tanzania Companion Synod Co-Chair.
