In commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, a service of common prayer will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind., on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. EST.

Leaders from within the Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopal and Presbyterian churches will co-preside over the “Common Prayer of Reconciliation & Remembrance” service. Elizabeth Eaton, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will preach at the service. Joining Bishop Eaton in leading worship will be Denis Madden, auxiliary bishop emeritus, Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore; Douglas Sparks, bishop, Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana; and Charles Wiley III, coordinator of the Office of Theology and Worship, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

The service of common prayer is open to the public and will be available via livestream.
