Worship
This June, we will gather for our annual Synod Assembly under the theme I See Jesus. We will come together to move the work of the Synod forward with our business sessions, we will listen to stories of ministries from across the Synod, we will fellowship with one another, and we will gather for worship! In a way, everything we do at Synod Assembly is worship, ways in which we live into the people God created us to be to bring honor to God.
On the topic of worship, we are excited to introduce you to the team that will be planning and coordinating worship for the assembly.

Our Synod Assembly Chaplin will be The Rev. Michael Price. Pastor Michael serves as the pastor of Christus Victor Lutheran in Columbia.

The Rev. Joanna Gragg, Associate Pastor of Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Columbia will be serving as our assembly’s necrologist.

The Rev. Martín López, who serves as Pastor of Parroquia El Mesías and Parroquia Nuestro Salvador in Mauldin, will be serving on the worship team as Linguistic and Cultural Interpreter.

And finally, David Turner, Director of Music at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Columbia will serve as our assembly musician.
We are thrilled to bring together the gifts and experiences of each of these leaders in our Synod to coordinate and plan worship for all those gathered for the assembly.
ELCA Representative

Lasty, we would like to share with you our ELCA representative. Every year there is a member of the Churchwide Staff that joins us at Assembly to bring greetings and walk alongside us as we gather. This year we’re excited to share that Judith Roberts will be joining us. Judith Roberts serves as the Senior Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
It’s never too early to begin thinking about Assembly. Is your congregation already talking about who will be coming? We can’t wait to welcome you!
