South Carolina Synod gives flood recovery donation to Lutheran Services Carolinas
By Rev. Eric Wolf, Assistant to the Bishop
After action of the Synod Council that directed us to donate the remaining balance in our Flood Relief account to LSC, the South Carolina Synod presented Lutheran Services of the Carolinas with a check for $65,089.88 with an aim to help people who continue to face flood damage but find themselves in the gap between insurance coverage and government assistance. This will also help fund other things, but we’re so grateful for the partnership we have with LSC and the faithful people who donated funds to flood relief that we’ve been disbursing prior to this final disbursement. This is a great example of how ELCA Lutherans in South Carolina live out our mission, Joining Neighbors, Serving Boldly, Loving All Through Christ.
