Fall 2017 Growing in God’s Mission Community Engagement Grants
The South Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is pleased to announce the request for applications for the FALL of 2017 GROWING IN GOD’S MISSION COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT GRANT.
Because of the generous gifts from congregations in the South Carolina Synod, ELCA to the Growing in God’s Mission appeal, funds are available to SC Synod congregations to initiate NEW, meaningful connections and relationships with their community.
The South Carolina Synod Growing in God’s Mission Campaign will distribute $20,000 (to multiple congregations) during the Fall 2017 grant cycle. Congregations may apply for grants that will fund a NEW ministry demonstrating their congregation’s engagement with the community and the community need that the ministry will address. Congregations who receive a grant award must implement the new ministry within their community within the year the grant award is received (October 3, 2017- September 30, 2018). Congregations may apply for a grant up to three consecutive years.
Applications for the GROWING IN GOD’S MISSION COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT GRANT should be completed in full for request to be considered. Completed applications are due October 3, 2017.
Applications will be reviewed by the Growing in God’s Mission Grant Committee. Congregations will be notified of their award status by November 1, 2017.
